Our main philosophy: from the community, for the community.
The purpose of this project is to publish a book that is accessible for as many people as possible. That is why we are working on a crowdfunded strategy, where investors (through a pre-order or other to be defined perks) become shareholders of the project. We offer the book at a price as fair as possible keeping in mind the structural costs and making sure that benefits are shared among those who made the book possible.
Our predicted costs include:
Web development
Web hosting
Graphic design & typeface
Press & PR
Digital marketing
Print
Project management
Correcting
Translating from French to Dutch

Pictures
This book will be richly illustrated. Therefore we will use photographic material from various sources and archives. We will do everything in our power to find the original creator, photographer or designer of every illustration and credit everyone. We will compensate every author with a free book sent to their doorstep.
Overview of partition of profits
We believe that all energy and work invested into this project deserve to be compensated adequately. We set up a remuneration system, where all founding members of the team will be receiving a share of the profits (after all costs have been paid) depending on their time and energy invested:
AfterClub Publishing (25%)
Editor in chief: Koen Galle (10%)
Head of graphic design: Otis Verhoeve (10%)
Web Developer: Leo Seyers (10%)
Project manager FR: Camille Loiseau (10%)
Project manager NL: Sam de Brabander (10%)
Writers: (number of words written / total words book) (15%)
A number of (yet to be hired) admins (10%)
The time and energy invested by the above team members is documented in the project’s timeline. Get to know them better in the team section of these about pages.
We also realize that this is a passion project, where many people from the community will help the project to grow and come to fruition. All volunteers or anyone who has made this project possible will also receive a free copy of the book.
